Welcome to the triobots guide on how to build your chatbot.

Here we will introduce you to the tools and the steps you need to take in order to develop and maintain a successful chatbot. First we will start with some main concepts. When you create your account you can go up in the navigation menu and click 'Editor'. This is where you will be doing all of your work. After you get there you should see the two main frames. The left one is called the Toolbar. From there you will be creating your functions, links, images and so on. The right frame is called the Visual Workspace. In there you will see all of the functions you have created and you will be able to edit them by double click.

What is a function?

Functions are the building blocks of our system. We display them in the form of boxes. In the Toolbar frame you should see a box that has a button called 'Create New Function'. This is where you will create all of your functions. As you can see it has a few parameters you need to enter first. The first one 'When an answer is equal to' simply means if a customer clicks on an answer button and this answer button is called 'something' then ... In this parameter you need to put the name of the answer button. We know it may sound confusing a bit but after playing around you will understand it better. The second parameter 'and this block's id is equal to' means that when an answer button is pressed and it's block id is equal to... Here you should put the function id of the answer button. The 'S: Start' and 'S: 0' mean that the start function has there parameters. It has one answer button called 'Start' and it's function id (the start function id) is 0. These are the default values you should enter when you create the first function in your tree. The third parameter 'then create a new block with id' means that the first parameters you entered are valid it's going to display a new block with id 'some number'. The first three parameters mean that if a customer clicks on an answer button (Your first parameter) and it's block id is equal to (Your second parameter) then display a new block with id (Third parameter)... The last two parameters are for setting up the new block's title and answer buttons. When you are done creating your first function you can see that a new box has appeared in the Visual Workspace frame. This is your first function. You can change it's properties by double clicking on it.

In order to test your chatbot you can go to 'Public Link' in the navigation menu. This is the link your customers are going to use. After clicking the 'Start' button your should see your function in action. If a new block doesn't appear then just go back and check if everything is okay. Try to delete your function and start again.

The 'Create Link' box in the Toolbar frame is for create links. In the first parameter put the name of the link and in the second put the actual link. After that it's going to give you a text. Copy it and paste it in the title parameter when creating or editing a function.

The 'Create Image' box in the Toolbar frame is for adding images. In the first parameter put the link of the image. After that click 'Create Image'. It should give you a text. Copy that text and paste it in the title parameter when creating or editing a function.

How clicks work

Every account has clicks used, clicks left and clicks limit. When you create your account you have:

clicks limit - 500, clicks left - 500 and clicks used - 0
One click is counted when someone clicks on an 'answer button'.
(A chatbot's response is not counted as a click) So if your customers made 100 clicks in total, your stats would look like this:
clicks limit - 500, clicks left - 400 and clicks used - 100

When your clicks left are 0 and clicks used are equal to your clicks limit you will have to purchase more clicks in order to keep your chatbot going. When you buy clicks, you are actually buying a new clicks limit. If you have clicks left when we are setting your new clicks limit, your clicks left will be added to your new clicks limit and your clicks used will be emptied.

Example:
(Before purchase) clicks limit - 500, clicks left - 400 and clicks used - 100
(You buy a new clicks limit of 5000 clicks)
(After purchase) clicks limit - 5400, clicks left - 5400 and clicks used - 0

We recommend you to buy your new clicks limit before your clicks left are 0 because it usually takes around 1 day for your new clicks limit to be set.

How visits work

One Unique IP Visit is counted when a customer clicks on the Start button of your chatbot. If the same customer clicks on the Start button again, a visit will not be counted because this person has already been signed in the chatbot's visits database. If this person changes the IP of his computer and clicks on the Start button, a visit will be counted as a new IP will be registered. This is a great way of keeping track of how many people are using your chatbot.
